We are delighted to announce the WORLD PREMIERE of Nepalbhasha film Tuyumati (with English subtitles)
and would like to invite you and your family and friends to this red-carpet event!
About the film
Tuyumati translates to clear and positive thoughts and the film is not only comical but also educative.
It is based on the issues and values prevalent in Nepali society; generally, there are assumptions within
the Nepali community that one must go abroad in order to better their life chances whilst others are
compelled to leave their home nation as a result of their circumstances. Tuyumati portrays the reality
and conditions of Nepali people working and living abroad and how these differ to perceptions of making
a living in a foreign country.
The film is dubbed in Nepali and Nepalbhasha, both with English subtitles. It was shot and edited in London
and Nepal with the involvement of British filmmakers; one of Nepal’s famous actors, Madan Krishna Shrestha,
also stars in the film.
Tuyumati is directed by Aaryem Nakami and the story is written by Manish Shrestha. It is also supported
by Pasa Puchah Guthi UK, Bhairab Naach Guthi UK, Bhairab Naach Guthi Nepal, Hali Newah Guthi Nepal, Bishnu
Prajapati and Family (Bhaktapur) and the International Nepalese Artists Society.
About the Writer
Manish Shrestha is an actor, director, author and a Newah Activist. Mr Shrestha is also the founder-General
Secretary of Pasa Puchah Guthi Southeast London. During his time with the Guthi he has served as a
President for the same branch. He has also written various books in Nepali and Nepalbhasha.
