The 1st meeting of the 5th Executive Committee 2008-2010 of Pasa Puchah Guthi UK (PPGUK) was held on 14 September 2008 at 14:00 in London Thames College, Hanger Lane, London under the chairmanship of President Dr Shanta Bir Singh Tuladhar with founder members and representatives of various regions as special invitees. Handing over and taking over was completed.

A 129-Member New Year Celebration Main Committee – 1129 was formed under the chairmanship of the President, including all members of present Executive Committee, founder members, members of former executive committees, executive and active members of all regional committees and active members from different parts of UK viz. Central London, South East London, North West London, Aldershot, Basingstoke, Reading, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff and so on. To coordinate the various activities like Mhapuja, publication of Guthi magazine, cultural activities, etc, a 13-Member Working Committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the President Dr. Shanta Bir Singh Tuladhar with members Rameshwor Singh Dangol, Krishna Chakkhun, Ojesh Singh, Rameshwor Shrestha, Pratima Joshi, Menka Shrestha, Manisha Dangol Shrestha, Manish Shrestha, Ganga Devi Shrestha, Sabin Rajbhandari, Binod Shrestha, and Anju Shrestha.

Sports Sub-committee was formed with Suresh Vaidya as Chairperson and Binod Shrestha as Coordinator and Cultural Sub-committee was formed with Manish Shrestha as Chairperson. The 10th Anniversary of PPGUK will be a milestone and the year will be celebrated in remarkable way in 2009. Honours and felicitation activities will be conducted during Mhapuja – 1129 to be held on Sunday 2nd November 2008 in Hammersmith Town Hall as follows:
1)    All founder members of PPGUK will be felicitated
2)    Eldest British Newa man and eldest British Newa woman will be honoured
3)    Some British Newa talents in UK contributed to Newalogy and/ or PPGUK will be honoured
4)    Newa children who have done remarkably well getting all As or A*s in GCSE exam will be recognised and encouraged to do even better
5)    PPGUK football team will be honoured
Manisha Dangol Shrestha will lead on all matters related to Fashion Show in Nepal Fair – 2008. Ganga Devi Shrestha and Menka Shrestha will help Manisha in the Fashion Show. PPGUK will take part in NRN cup and £150 was raised for football. Sports sub-committee will plan for next table tennis competition. Newas from all the regions will be considered for forming PPGUK football team in future. More Newa festivals will be celebrated in future. A branch of PPGUK will soon be formed in Cardiff with Shivaji Shrestha as Chairperson. Similarly branches will be formed wherever there are at least 25 members. President Dr. Shanta Bir Singh Tuladhar will contact  Newas from different parts of UK coming to participate  in Nepal Fair and arrange for a  meeting. Nepalbhasa classes will be run in Central London and Menka Shrestha agreed to give a room at Camden and Ganga Devi Shrestha agreed to give a room in South East London. It was agreed to make Guthi the common magazine of PPGUK and all regional news and articles from different parts of UK  to be published in that and South East London branch also agreed to this. Purna Kumar Shrestha will be visiting UK for a lecture and President to give him free accommodation on behalf of Pasa Pucha Guthi and a Talk programme on ‘Education in Mothertongue in New Nepal’ by Purna Kumar Shrestha will be held on Saturday 04 October 2008 at 14:00 details to be posted in PPGUK website and all the media to be notified. Signature campaign to pressurise the Nepal Government to declare Nepalbhasa along with Khas (Nepali) language as official language of Nepal Government and also to put  Nepalbhasa as alternative to Khas and other languages in the curriculum in Nepal.

Necessary amendments/ revisions in the Constitution will be done to make it acceptable to Newas of all regions of UK. The Constitution of PPGUK will be translated in Nepalbhasa and Khas Languages and the copies in all the three languages will be circulated to all Newas in all regions of UK to receive comments for necessary revision in the Constitution. A special General Meeting will be convened in the month of January 2009 to amend/ revise the constitution. Kumar Shrestha invited everybody in AGM of PPGUK, South East London Branch to be held on Sunday 12 October 2008, details of which to be posted on PPGUK website. Kumar Shrestha also invited all in Mhapuja on 29 October 08 organised by PPGUK South East Branch.
