Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2006

Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2006 Pasa Puchah Guthi UK, AGM (Annual General Meeting), was held on 18-06-06 at Abbey Community Hall, Alperton. Around 60 people, members and non- members attended the meeting with lots of excitement and dedication towards our culture and tradition, our language, our Nepal Bhasha.
	Everybody was welcomed with the snacks and soft drinks while alcoholic drinks could be brought from the bar. And the proceeding of annual general meeting was opened by the Vice president, Indira Shrestha in the absence of President at 42.00 pm. The former Vice president, Indira Shrestha, welcomed everybody, and thanked every body for their support and effort to make it to the day. Former General Secretary, Ojesh Singh, presented all minutes from AGM 2005; He then passed it on to Treasurer, Om Pradhan for the Treasurer’s reports. He gave all reports for the year 2005/2006. He also assured all the reports regarding the PPG accounts will be published in coming PPG quarterly bulletin as well as in Annual Mha Puja magazine.
Ojesh Singh presented General Secretary’s report on PPGUK year 2005/2006. He highlighted the courage and the hard work of all the committee members to run the picnic on the rainy day/ he also highly criticized about certain Nepalese community not being very helpful about the date, but thanked all the supporters for attending the picnic despite rain.
Regarding the Mha: Puja 2006 he said he was happy about the profit the guthi made, however, he pointed out that the guthi should not always work for profit but bigger and better gathering of the people. When questioned asked about whether next Mha: Puja will be on weekend or on weekdays, he said he would like it to be on weekday but advised he would wait for the new committee to decide on the date.
AGM ended with the vote of thanks from Ojesh Singh and Indira Shrestha, concluded meeting in absence of President thanking everyone. Mrs Indra Shrestha then handed Election Officer, Dr Dharma Shakya for dissolution of the present committee and to conduct election for the term 2006/2008 PPGUK.

After the AGM and the Election, refreshment of a typical Newari food, Chatamari was provided by the Guthi along with Aloo achar, Ba:ji and other vegetables.
